Willkommen in Deutsch I
German I is designed to enrich the students’ understanding of German language and culture. Level one covers the basics of the German language. After an introduction to the alphabet and sounds, we will begin exploring conversational topics throughout the rest of the year. The objective of this course is primarily speaking, followed by listening, reading and writing, while preparing students for the AP Test and college level material. Subsequent courses will enrich the foundation of language and skills created in German I through prose, poetry, advanced grammar study, and cultural connections. Students should be prepared to study vocabulary and speak as much German as possible.
Students will learn to communicate in real ways, learning necessary vocabulary, context, and structures to navigate the Germasn speaking world based on American Council of Teaching Foreign Language standards.
German I will utilize Google Classroom for many assignments and handouts. Please visit your class site to access assignment material.
